Lots of news on training this time and you can always get the latest from the District website.  There is a full first aid course (module 10) in Chippenham on 17 Feb – contact Guy (our local training manager) for more details – email ltm@wiltshirenorthscouts.org.uk.   There are also a further two first aid courses available over the next couple of months – details here.

The next County Training Weekend is 17/18 March with details on the website – click here.

Young Leaders Training
There will be a district Young Leaders training weekend on 10/11 March – click here for more details.

PL and APLs Workshop
This will be a county event taking place at Wiltshire Scout Centre on 4/6 May. More details of this can be found here with the application form available here.

Dates
Don’t forget to keep an eye on our key dates page on the District website which we are trying to keep up to date.  The next GSLs’ meeting will be on Thursday 8 March – details to be confirmed.  We are also organising a District Team Meeting for ADCs, DESC and DCs over the next week or so and will confirm details of this.

Appointments
Andrea Brooks is our Appointments Secretary and all new adult appointments should be entered onto compass directly or sent to Andrea.  You can email Andrea at secretary@wiltshirenorthscouts.org.uk

Permits
As we all start thinking towards our summer prgrammes, do you need any Permits?  Get in touch for Nights Away Permits so assessments can be scheduled and if anyone is interested in Adventurous Activity Permits, do let us know and we will see what we can do.

A request from John Islip, our former DC…
May I request a bit of publicity for a forthcoming event.

As you know I am involved in choir singing and a group of us have been fund raising for athe Parkinson Society aiming to help fund research.  I, along with a number of other Wessex male choir Choristers, will be attempting to Walk and sing – collecting money on the way in a half Marathon – called the “big half” in a few weeks time.

The just giving page is at https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/wessexchoir

We ( the walkers) would all be very appreciative of any support you can give , for me this has been a Motivation to try and get more mobile and fit – and yes it as been a real fight to be able to walk much more than 3 or 4 miles so whilst getting there is a lot more training to do !. guess ‘no pain no gain’ holds true.
